European Union | Funding Opportunities: EU4Health Call for Proposals

The topics of the European Commission's new call for proposals address lifelong prevention for healthy living, as well as AI and health data, both focusing on non-communicable diseases and cardiovascular health.

EU4H-2026-SANTE-PJ-05 - Call for proposals on lifelong prevention for a healthy life with focus on cardiovascular diseases (CR/CV&NCD-g-25-18)

The European Commission launched a new EU4Health action grant call focused on reducing the burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) - with particular emphasis on cardiovascular diseases - through a lifelong prevention approach. This initiative promotes health equity, supports healthy ageing, and aims to reduce key risk behaviours such as tobacco and alcohol use, poor diet, and physical inactivity across all age groups. It also places a strong focus on youth mental well-being and the health of vulnerable populations.


Funded projects are expected to deliver:

  • Piloting of innovative public health interventions at the population level.

  • Awareness-raising campaigns tailored to specific groups.

  • Capacity-building activities for stakeholders.

  • Support for patient organisations and groups representing vulnerable communities.



Funding and Application Details


Consortium requirement: Proposals must be submitted by a consortium of at least five organisations from five different eligible countries, which include EU Member States (including their overseas countries and territories), as well as non-EU countries associated with the EU4Health Programme (currently: Iceland, Norway, Ukraine, Moldova, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina).


Total available budget: €2,000,000

Action duration: 36 months

Number of projects funded: One

Deadline for submission: before 6 January 2026, 17:00 CET (Brussels time)

EU4H-2026-SANTE-PJ-04 - A European flagship initiative leveraging AI and health data for cardiovascular health and related non-communicable diseases: Advancing Risk Prediction, Prevention, Treatments, Personalised Care and Rehabilitation (CR/CV&NCD-g-25-16)

The European Commission opened a new EU4Health action grant call to drive innovation in cardiovascular health and related non‑communicable diseases (NCDs) through advanced use of artificial intelligence and health data. This flagship initiative aims to strengthen risk prediction, prevention, tailored treatments, personalised care, and rehabilitation across Europe.

Funded projects are expected to deliver:

  • Federated, interoperable cardiovascular datasets supporting cross-border AI development.

  • Validated AI tools demonstrating improved early detection, risk stratification, and personalised care.

  • Clinical and operational guidelines enabling safe, effective AI adoption.

  • Strategic integration frameworks and roadmaps for national and EU-level decision-making.

  • Improved health outcomes through earlier diagnosis and prevention of NCDs.

  • Greater equity in access to personalised care, especially in underserved regions.

  • Increased trust in European AI solutions, with robust governance and alignment with the AI Act and EHDS Regulation.



Funding and Application Details


Consortium requirement: Proposals must be submitted by a consortium of at least five organisations from five different eligible countries, which include EU Member States (including their overseas countries and territories), as well as non-EU countries associated with the EU4Health Programme (currently: Iceland, Norway, Ukraine, Moldova, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina).


In addition to the regular applicants, such as education establishments, research institutes, hospitals, expert networks, and civil society organisations, public authorities, such as ministries of health, regional health agencies, or health insurance bodies actively engaged in public health initiatives, are also targeted applicants.


Total available budget: €20,000,000

Action duration: 24 to 36 months

Number of projects funded: One

Deadline for submission: before 6 January 2026, 17:00 CET (Brussels time)
